Transfers, official: Rennes finally sign Dalmat

It’s now official, Stéphane Dalmat (31 y/o) signed a two year contract with Rennes this afternoon, which will keep him in Brittany until June 2012. The transfer fee is in the area of 1.5 Million euros.

The player’s arrival was long to finalise, at the term of highly eventful transfer negotiations. But eventually, Rennes and Sochaux found an agreement to bring the player on the Vilaine banks. In Rennes, Dalmat will join his eighth French club since he came into professional football.

An offensive midfielder, Dalmat is expected to add his playmaker qualities to Frederic Antonetti’s squad. With technical skills far above average, the former Sochaux man will now have to prove he can be the link between midfield and attack Rennes was looking for.
