International, U19 : Diallo qualifies for the 2011 World Cup

After their large victory over Austria (5-0) with goals from Antoine Griezmann (2), Alexandre Lacazette (2) and Enzo Reale, the U19 France national team is now topping its group with two wins in two games. Last Sunday, the Rennes goalkeeper Abdoulaye Diallo -playing all 90 minutes again yesterday- and his team-mates had already crushed the Nethelands (4-1).

With this success, the frenchmen are already sure to reach one of the first three positions in their group and therefore qualify for the 2011 U20 World Cup. A great reward for a team playing at a brilliant level since they entered this competition.

However, Diallo and his team still need to get a result against England next Saturday to make sure they qualify for the U19 Euro’s semi-finals, played in Normandy (France). In the second group, Spain is currently in the lead with six points, followed by Portugal (3 points), Italy and Croatia (1 point each).
