Reserve: Heavy week end, three players on trial

This week-end two friendlies are on the menu for the Stade Rennais’ Reserve team. On Saturday, a charity game is organised against GSI Pontivy (CFA2, 5th division), in Ploërmel (19:00). The next morning (10:00), they will be facing Saint-Malo (CFA2) at La Piverdière. A summary of this game will be available on Stade Rennais Online.
These games will be a good occasion to prepare the restart of the Amateur French League (CFA), as the “Rouge et Noir” will face Avranches in Rennes, on August 8th.

The Reserve Squad (to be confirmed)

Laurent Huard’s group of players could be reinforced with some of Frédéric Antonetti’s men, who would have played little or nothing of the friendly against Caen in Ouistreham this Saturday.

Against Granville (CFA2) last Wednesday, Rennes managed a 1-0 victory thanks to a goal by Quentin Rouger. Benjamin Basse, Julian Esteban and Kamal Issah Sissoko were missing for unkown reasons. During this game, Gaëtan Caro was wearing the Captain’s armband and played as a right back, a position he had already occupied last season for a home game against Quevilly (0-3).

Besides, three players seems to be on trial with the Reserve at the moment: One seems to be Stéphane Badji, a defender from Senegal first division (Casa-Sports). A second player on trial is thought to respond to the name or nickname “Sekoba”. Finally, a former trainee at Rennes Academy, having then played for La Vitréenne, seems to be on trial with the Reserve too. It is Mathieu Adeniyi, a 2007 French Champion of Professional reserves with the Stade Rennais.
