Players on Loan: Pajot and Boulogne-sur-Mer eliminate Nantes

Boulogne-sur-Mer qualified for the Coupe de la Ligue second round this afternoon, going past Nantes on penalties (2-2, 4-2 pen.). Trailing twice, Boulogne found resources to equalise twice, before showing more composure on the penalty shootouts.

Starting on the bench, Vincent Pajot came in at the 62th minute for Vincent Bessat. The Rennes defensive midfielder, loaned in the Nord this season, showed a great availability and activity in the ball recovery. Four minutes after entering the field, he was even very close of opening the score line on Grégory Thil’s cross, but his header lacked precision.

Against Nantes, Pajot played his first ever professional match against Rennes’ archrival. The Coupe de la Ligue second round draw will be completed this Sunday at the French Professional Football League (LFP). This Friday, Boulogne-sur-Mer will kick off their 2010-2011 Ligue 2 season, at home, against Clermont-Foot.
