Youth: Petit on trial at Reims

After an unsuccessful trial in Grenoble in July, Florent Petit is currently tried in Reims. A team which will feature in the next Ligue 2 season.

A winner of the 2008 Gambardella Cup with the Stade Rennais, Petit had signed a one year long professional contract (with an option for two more years) in June 2009. The victim of a dense competition for the goalkeeper positions, with Johann Carrasso, Abdoulaye Diallo, Nicolas Douchez et Cheick N’Diaye, his contract wasn’t extended and he was released during this summer transfer window.

With already three goalkeepers in his squad (Kossi Agassa, Johan Liébus, Emmanuel Martin), Reims coach Hubert Fournier decided to take the former Rennes keeper on trial for a few days. This Tuesday, Petit apparently played in a friendly against Sedan’s Reserve.
