Transfers: A new Ghanaian in Rennes

Transfers: A new Ghanaian in Rennes

After Asamoah Gyan’s departure, John Boye won’t be the only Ghanaian player in Rennes anymore, as Kamal Issah Sissoko (turning 18 in three weeks) has reportedly signed a 3 years contract according to sports newspaper L’Equipe this Saturday.

According to this information, the midfielder could have signed a professional contract as opposed to a trainee contract, since those are usually offered with standard 2 years duration. As Gyan, Kamal Issah Sissoko – not to be confused with Slimane Sissoko, a young striker also born in 1993 – is born in Accra and has been trained at Liberty Professionals FC, the Ghanaian premier division club where “BabyJet” also started his footballing career.

Talking to Stade Rennais Online, Laurent Huard affirmed the club would soon make the signing official. This will allow us to have a clearer view on this transfer, already announced since the beginning of the summer.
