Selections, U21: Brahimi called up

The U21 France national manager, Érick Mombaerts, announced this Thursday his list of players for the two friendlies against Turkey and Denmark.

Among the eighteen selected players, Rennes’ Yacine Brahimi, regularly called up since the beginning of this season, is included.

No other Stade Rennes player was selected. Suprisingly, several players born in 1989 were called, despite the fact they won’t be able to claim a selection during the qualifications for the 2013 U21 Euro. Taking this into account, Kévin Théophile-Catherine (born in 1989), could therefore have been part of this squad.

The game against Turkey will be disputed on Friday, October 8th at the Stade de l’Aube, Troyes, while the Denmark game will be played the following Tuesday in Aalborg.
