Dalmat: “My season beginning is average”

Dalmat: “My season beginning is average”

Interviewed by Le Parisien yesterday, Stéphane Dalmat is giving himself no concessions when he looks back at his first months in Rennes. “My beginning of the championship is average”, he affirms. “We are solid but we can do much better in terms of using the ball. Once I feel better, I will be able to bring more to the team”.

The midfielder, who admits to be in Rennes to “guide” some of his younger team-mates, including Yann M’Vila («he still needs to be mentored») also states that his “mission” is to help the Stade Rennais “reach a new level” by “finishing on the top 5”.

Congratulated by Clarence Seedorf a few days ago (see previously), the former Inter Milan player said he was “touched” by the words of his former team-mate. “This is the nicest compliment I’ve received since the beginning of my career, he admitted. It is a real honour to hear things like that coming from a player like him, as for me, Seedorf belongs to the true Greats”.
