Boghossian impressed by M’Vila

Boghossian impressed by M'Vila

Since weeks, praise is falling continuously on Yann M’Vila. After Laurent Blanc and Zinedine Zidane, another 1998 World Champion took the time to talk to L’Équipe about the young Rennes midfielder’s performances.

"I always have a special consideration for the defensive midfielders, it’s the position I used to play at. So obviously, M’Vila, considering his age, he impresses me. He certainly caught my eye” admits Alain Boghossian, France’s assistant manager.

Boghossian was already part of the technical staff under Raymond Domenech’s management, when M’Vila was included in the thirty men squad in view of the World Cup in South Africa. However, he was one of the seven players not making it through the cut, alongside Jimmy Briand and Rod Fanni, and being kept away from the South African shambles. A blessing in disguise.
