Antonetti : «A misunderstanding with Sow»

Talking to regional newspaper La Voix du Nord a few days before Lens-Rennes , Frédéric Antonetti shared his feeling regarding the departure of Moussa Sow, who scored four goals since the beginning of the season with Lille.

“I did everything I could to keep him in the squad but I did not manage it, as there was a misunderstanding regarding his contract, Antonetti explains.His performances with Lille aren’t surprising to me. He is a good player”.

At the end of his contract in June, Sow could not agree with Rennes’ management on the terms of the contract extension proposed to him.

During the interview, Antonetti did not hesitate to praise Pierre Dréossi, a “great professional” and a “huge worker that doesn’t count his time”.
Very «corporate» words, probably echoing the slight tensions that seemed to appear between the coach and his management (see previously). Dréossi, himself, had denied the alleged tensions, via the club’s official website last week.
