Briand : “No particular pressure”

Briand : “No particular pressure”

Talking to Lyon’s daily newspaper Le Progrès before OL travels to Rennes, Jimmy Briand remains quite relaxed before his first game against his training club.

The striker admits that returning to the route de Lorient gives him “pleasure”, but he also affirms that he doesn’t feel any “particular pressure” a few days before the game. “I will meet friends before and after the game, but on the pitch, there will only be opponents, and if I can score there, I won’t be asking myself any questions”, Briand announces.

Having spent a season under Frédéric Antonetti’s management, Briand certainly has the advantage of knowing how Rennes prepares that type of game. “I know what we are going into”, he explains. I know the way Rennes will be getting into this game against Lyon, because I was part of this squad until last season. They will be hugely motivated”.

Since the beginning of this season, Briand has gathered 5 goals and 4 assists, in all competitions. He has just be named the “best player in October” by the Lyon supporters.
