Transfers: Huseklepp drifting away from Rennes?

According to Norwegian website tv2sporten.no, Stade Rennes abandoned the idea to recruit Erik Huseklepp during the next winter transfer market.

Since a few weeks, the Norwegian international’s name had been coming back insistently as Rennes’ number one recruitment target.

Last Wednesday, Pierre Dréossi had reportedly travelled in person to observe him during the international friendly between Ireland and Norway. Huseklepp shined by scoring Norway’s winning goal (2-1), but it seems he failed to convince the Rennais general manager in terms of defensive work and one-on ones. A source “close to the club” and relayed by mercato365.com, confirmed that the “latest echoes are not really positive. In particular, he seems to be missing some ability to put on the defensive work”.

The probability to see Huseklepp arrive to Brittany over the next few weeks seem therefore less and less likely.
