Antonetti asks the fan for more encouragements

A day after the game against Brest, and despite Rennes’ victory, the press described a modest and “calm” atmosphere in the Route de Lorient, despite the stadium behind sold-out for the derby.

One of the journalists covering the game for L’Equipe published a short article titles “team seeks supporters”, in which he quotes Rennes’ manager reacting at the end of the game: “the side stands are mute, and I can’t explain why”.

Ouest-France discusses the topic in more detail in an article Sunday, quoting Frédéric Antonetti: “Sometimes, we suffer a bit. If the fans were pushing us, if they were giving a bit more energy to the players. But it’s not in the culture, they watch. So I turn towards them and I tell them +Encourage them+, and they shout +Yeah!+, but it’s not me who need encouragement, it’s the players! It’s funny, but that’s the way it is.”
