Transfers: Rennes follows three strikers

As weeks go by, the list of strikers likely to join the Stade Rennais this winter is getting longer. After Demba Ba, Brazilians Ciro et Jael, and various forwards playing in France at the time Rennes was still in search of a joker (Erding, Boukari, Frau…), Ouest-France, who announced that the trail leading ot Huseklepp had been abandoned, gave three new names today.

According to a source « close to the club, the Stade Rennais has set sights on these three young forwards:

The first, named Denni Avdić, is a Swedish born in Bosnia. He plays for Elfsborg since 2006 and is 22 years old. Second best goal-scorer in the 2010 Swedish league (with 19 goals), the tall striker (1,93m) honoured his first cap for Sweden last year.

The second target, Wilfried Bony, is a 21 years old Ivorian striker who plays at Sparta Prague (Czech Republic), Petr Čech’s former club. An international player, he scored 22 goals in 59 games and two and a half year with Sparta.

The third and last, Matías Suárez, is a 22 years old Argentinian. He arrived in Belgium, at RSC Anderlecht, in 2008. A fifteen times goal scorer (all competitions included) last season, he notably scored three goals in the Champion’s League. Ouest-France describe him as “very gifted technically”.
