Camara: “If I’m proposed a logical evolution to my career, I will extend”

Camara: “If I’m proposed a logical evolution to my career, I will extend”

Interviewed this month in Le Foot Bretagne, Abdoul Camara is looking back at the beginning of the season, in which he appeared several times in Ligue 1.

« [I’ve never been the wonderkid, the young forward explains. I improved step by step, quietly. I wasn’t included in the squad this year…I came in. Now I have some playing time. Slowly, it will come”.

As his contract expires in June, Camara affirms he is ready to extend his stay at his training club. “[I’m in a good situation, he explains. If I’m proposed a logical evolution to my progress, I will certainly extend, no doubt about that! I’m not opposed to it. We’ve been in talk for months. If I have to leave, I will leave. If I have to stay, I will stay”.

Targeted by Guinea, which already called him for international football, while he would favour the prospect of a first cap with France U2, “Razza” admits holding a slight grudge towards the Rennes management. “I would not stay I grew up in the shadows, but the club has always brought players forward”, Camara explains (ed.: He is from the same generation as M’Vila, Brahimi or Le Tallec), he who regrets that his management “doesn’t look at peoples who work hard, hang on to it…. Consequently, his spell at the Academy sounds like a time to forget. “I have no good memories, not even the Gambardella”, Camara says, who had been left on the bench for Hicham M’Laab at the Stade de France.
