Transfers, Fanni : Dassier hopes to complete the transfer «within 48h»

Days are passing, and Rod Fanni is still to join Marseille. Invited yesterday on in the TV show “Les spécialistes» on French TV Canal + Sport, Pierre Dréossi admitted to be surprised by the turn of events, mentioning a “strangely complicated” transfer, and reminding that Liverpool was still on Fanni’s trail.

At the moment, the player is still negotiating his contract with Marseille. In an interview to OMTV, relayed by the club’s official website, Jean-Claude Dassier says he “he hopes” that a deal will be found. “At the moment, expectations from both sides are quite distant, but I hope we can find an agreement in the next 48 hours, the Marseille president explained. Each of us needs to be careful, with the current economic climate, we have to be careful with what we do. I’m not pessimistic, I know we will do it”.

Didier Deschamps, who hoped to have Fanni available for Marseille’s game agaisnt Auxerre this week-end, will not see his wish fulfilled. Will the defender play with the Stade Rennais though? During the press conference this Friday, Frédéric Antonetti admitted that this never-ending transfer negotiations was “a real perturbation” for him. It remains to be seen whether Fanni will be included in the squad to travel to Bordeaux tomorrow, and whether Antonetti will take the risk to make him play at the Stade Chaban-Delmas.
