Transfers, Fanni: The imbroglio continues

Transfers, Fanni: The imbroglio continues

Day after day, the soap opera continues. While Rod Fanni might play for Rennes in Bordeaux this Sunday, discussions are carrying on regarding his transfer at Olympique Marseille.

Yesterday night, beside the game between Auxerre and OM, Olympian president Jean-Claude Dassier showed some irritation at the current situation (an agreement with Stade Rennes, but failure to agree on Fanni’s contract terms). “I hope we will find an agreement and the common sense will win, Dassier explained to Orange Sport. It would be a shame not to do it (Ed.: The transfer). But I won’t get the club in a mess and he has to know it”.

Talking in TV Show «Téléfoot» on TF 1 this Sunday morning, Didier Deschamps stated once again that his strong will to recruit the Rennes right back, especially as both his central defenders, Mbia and Diawara will be purging suspensions in the next few weeks. “He wants to come and my management will do their best to make it happen quickly”, the Marseille manager added.

Yesterday night, daily newspaper Ouest France echoed some divergent opinions regarding Fanni between the manager and his Sports Director José Anigo, the latter reportedly not as keen on realising this long-awaited transfer. According to La Provence, the discussions are stuck on Fanni’s wage expectations, the Rennes defender requesting a monthly salary of over 150,000 euros.
