Coupe de France : Rennes will host Cannes

The draw for the Coupe de France’s round of 64 wasn’t too harsh on Stade Rennais. Drawn from Hat D, Frédéric Antonetti’s players could have been travelling to Marseille, Saint-Étienne or Monaco. Finally, they will AS Cannes at the Route de Lorient for their first game in 2011.

Certainly not an easy game however, against a Cannes team currently fourth in the National (3rd tier), just behind Bastia, Guingamp and Amiens.

The AS Cannes squad includes several players with a big experience at the highest level, such as Czech international striker Jan Koller, midfielder Sylvain N’Diaye, forward Lilian Compan or goalkeeper Jérémy Gavanon.

The game will be played on January 8th or 9th.
