Discipline: Doumbia summoned in January

Discipline: Doumbia summoned in January

After Philippe Kalt, the referee of Bordeaux-Rennes, wrote a report regarding the bad challenge (read previously) by Tongo Doumbia at the beginning of the game, the LFP’s discipline commission decided to summon the player about the incident.

He will have to explain his gesture in front of the commission, which will therefore decide whether to inflict him a sanction or not. Doumbia, probably accompanied by club’s representatives, will have to travel to Paris on January 6th to plead for himself. In the meantime, he will be able to feature in the last two league games between the winter break, against Valenciennes on Saturday and Caen the following Wednesday.

During the pres conference this Thursday, Frédéric Antonetti asked for “justice”, without giving his midfielder excuses. “I don’t mind (Ed.:that Doumbia’s challenge is to be judged by the Discipline Commission) as long as all awkward, involuntary and deliberate aggressions are also looked at. Doumbia’s situation is clumsiness and there is no way this challenge should be looked at just because the game was played at 21:00. In that case, I would like Ciani’s elbowing, on the same game, to be looked at as well (Ed.: On Montaño). Not sure the Rennes manager will get his way there.
