Montaño felt pain behind his thigh

During an easy, goal-ridden evening, this is probably the only black spot Frédéric Antonetti will find. After scoring two of Rennes’ first three goals, Victor Hugo Montaño was forced to come out after only 34 minutes.

Injured, the Colombian went straight to the dressing room, clearly angered to know such fate just after scoring his first brace since he arrived to Brittany.

Back on the Rennes bench during the second half, Montaño explained to Eurosport that he had felt “pain behind the left thigh”, and requested to be replaced in order “not to take any risks”.

Stade Rennes indicated that the striker has been the victim of “muscle damage”, and that he would go through additional examination during the week to assess the gravity of his injury.

After he came out, Montaño was replaced by Razak Boukari at centre forward
