Discipline, Doumbia: No appeal expected

Discipline, Doumbia: No appeal expected

Stade Rennes should not appeal on the four match ban inflicted last Thursday to Tongo Hamed Doumbia (read previously), Ouest-France reported this Monday.

After the announcement of the sanction, the reaction from the Rennes management had been relatively shy, with only Frédéric Antonetti requesting more equality in the judgements made by the LFP’s Commission of Discipline (read previously). Neither Patrick Le Lay, nor Pierre Dréossi –usually keen on having a word about that type of topic – have uttered a word.

According to the newspaper, the reason behind Stade Rennes’ hesitation to appeal has got a simple cause: the fear to see Doumbia’s sanction increased on a second judgement.
