Coupe de France : Decision made on the Stadium for Vaulx-en-Velin - Stade rennais

After several days of pussyfooting, the Coupe de France’s Round of 32 between minnows Vaulx-en-Velin (DH) and Rennes will be played at the Stade de Balmont, in the Lyon agglomeration, whose maximum attendance is of 5600 spectators (3880 seats). Over the last few years, this stadium, usually Lyon-Duchère’s, has seen a few upsets in this competition. Indeed, Strasbourg and Toulouse were knocked-out respectively in the round of 64 and the round of 32 of the 2006 Coupe de France.

Usually playing at the Francisque-Jomard Stadium, Vaulx-en-Velin could not host Rennes on their own pitch, as their stadium is not officially approved to host a football game at this level of the competition. The game will be played this Sunday, 14:45 CET, and broadcasted live on Eurosport France .
