At the twenty-second minute of Rennes-Arles-Avignon this Saturday, Alexander Tettey has not only opened the score in that game. The Norwegian also scored Stade Rennes’ 2600th goal in Ligue 1 since 1932.

For the record, the 2500th foal had been scored by Mickaël Pagis, during a game against Le Mans on October 25th, 2008. It took a bit more than two years to the club to score a hundred goals in the league.

This exercise seems to be a favourite for Scandinavians playing at SRFC, since Kim Källström had scored the club’s 2300th and 2400th goals in Ligue 1, in a two year period between 2004 and 2006.

Tettey joins some of the biggest names in the club’s history, from Walter Kaiser (who scored the first goal on September 11th at stade Saint-Symphorien, Metz) to Shabani Nonda (2100th), including Henri Guérin (300th), Jean Grumellon (400th), Jean Prouff (600th), Daniel Rodighiero (1100th and 1200th), Laurent Pokou (1700th) or Stéphane Guivarc’h (2000th).
