Training: Rennes and Lorient gear up for the derby

In a week surrounded by the two Breton derbies, the Stade Rennais squad is now preparing the next trip to Lorient, this Saturday.

For their second game of the season on synthetic ground, the Rennes squad adopted the same strategy as they did against Nancy. Except yesterday, Tuesday, all training sessions this week will be played on the synthetic pitch at la Piverdière, where the Academy’s team usually train.

In Lorient, the focus is on limiting the number of injuries. Yesterday, Bruno Ecuele-Manga was forced to shorten his training session because of thigh pain, according to Ouest-France. The Gabonese defender is doubtful for Saturday.

While former Rennes defender Arnaud Le Lan, recovered from a hamstring injury, returned to training this Tuesday, Antoine Buron, Lionel Cappone and Yann Jouffre did not take part in the last training sessions.

Morgan Amalfitano and Sigamary Diarra, missing at training on Monday and Tuesday, returned to the Lorient squad training this Wednesday.
