This Wednesday evening, France beat Brazil in a friendly at Stade de France, by one goal to nil. A goal scored by Karim Benzema at the 54th minute, at the receiving of a pass by Breton Jérémy Ménez.

Alongside former Rennais Yoann Gourcuff, Yann M’Vila started the game at midfield, earning his sixth caps in seven games played by France since the nomination of Laurent Blanc. The Rennes youngster managed an average game, with a few good passes and a good presence at ball recovery, but also an unusually high number of lost balls.
M’Vila was replaced by Abou Diaby just before the hour mark, bringing what probably was his least achieved game with “Les Bleus” to an end.

Earlier, Alexander Tettey’s Norway lost to Poland (0-1), in Faro, on a goal by Lewandoski at the 19th minute.
The Rennes midfielder started the game, for the time in the national team since November 17, 2007! Tettey, then aged 21 and playing for Rosenborg, was at the very beginning of his international career. This Wednesday, the Norwegian played the entire first half before coming out at half time.

As for the younger players, Yassine Jebbourhonoured his first cap with Morocco U21. Starting at right back, he was involved in his team’s easy victory against Burkina Faso (3-1)

Finally, France U19 and Abdoulaye Diallo were held to a draw by the Netherlands (1-1) this afternoon. The young Rennes goalkeeper played the entire the game.
