Gambardella : Rennes will host Caen

The draw for the Gambardella Cup’s round of 32 has been made, and offered a difficult game to the Stade Rennes U19.

It is the Stade Malherbe de Caen that will face Régis Le Bris’ players on February 27th, in a match to be played at la Piverdière. Caen has easily eliminated Pontivy in the first round (4-0), before managing a god performance last week-end by knocking Lens out (1-0). The young Normans are also leading the League group in which Stade Rennes is also playing.

During the League games between the teams, Caen won both times, first with a thumping in the lower-Normandy capital (1-6), then in the return game at la Piverdière (0-1). A qualification for the round of 16 would therefore be a great result for the young Rennes team.
