Leroy opens the door to a contract extension

36 years old Jérôme Leroy will reach the end of his contract in June. At the club since Summer 2007, the Rennes wouldn’t mind another spell with Stade Rennais FC. However, he gives his condition to a possible contract extension; “My future, I don’t know what it will be made of. I wish Rennes will play Europe. Indeed, who says Europe means more players to play all competitions, so maybe I would have a chance to extend”, he explained.

Despite being sparsely used by Frédéric Antonetti this season (only eleven starts, including eight at home), Leroy is still able to give Rennes a useful hand, as yesterday in Toulouse (1-2), when he caused Victor Hugo Montaño’s victorious penalty. Since the beginning of the 2010-2011 swason, the former Paris man scored a goal, against Brest (2-1, Game Week 14), and delivered as much as five assists in the league. Furthermore, his experience in one of the youngest squads in Ligue 1 could be precious at the time to start the 2011-2012 season.
