Finances : Rennes on balance again?

Finances : Rennes on balance again?

Within the next few days, the DNCG (National Directorate of Management Control) will be publishing its report about the financial situation of French professional clubs for the 2009-2010 season.
In Wednesday’s edition, daily sports newspaper L’Équipe give a preview of the contents of this report, by publishing the balance of accounts for all twenty clubs having taken part in the Ligue 1 Championship last season.
While no less than thirteen clubs (including Lille with -1.6M€, but more importantly Paris with -21,9 M€ and Lyon with -35,1 M€) making a loss over this tax year, Stade Rennes close its books as often with balanced accounts, without any loss or profit. This reports is not including transfers made last summer, but does include those from the previous summer, including the sale of M’Bia and the recruitments of Bangoura and Tettey.

According to L’Équipe, only four clubs have managed (meagre) benefits over the 2009-2010 season: Lorient, Bordeaux, Montpellier and Boulogne-sur-Mer. Meanwhile, Marseille and Monaco, just like Rennes, closed this fiscal year with balanced accounts.
