Le Lay: “M'Vila? For 70 million, maybe...”

With the growing media hype around Stade Rennes, Patrick Le Lay shows more presence in front of the media recently. This Friday, in an interview to Eurosport’s website, the Stade Rennes President explain the policy followed by the club.

In sight, a qualification for the Champions League that would allow Stade Rennes to continue his plan of development… but he keeps his feet on the grounds. “If the club has got ambitions, it will have to qualify one day, Le Lay explains. The problem will be to organise the team accordingly, by streghtening it while keeping those who are already there. But the money earned in the Champions League won’t allow us to finance these efforts. We will have to remain cautious”.

This Thursday, talking to L’Équipe (read previously), the Stade Rennes president recognised he would need to keep a maximum of players next summer. Specifically questioned about the case of Yann M’Vila, Patrick Le Lay is adamant. “he will stay with us anyway”, the Rennes President affirms. Before softening his position, ironically: “for 70 million euros, maybe we would think about it”.
