Marveaux wants to play again before his departure

«Sylvain Marveaux will not play in a Stade Rennes shirt anymore». At the beginning of February, Pierre Dréossi was adamant on the chances to see the home-grown attacking midfielder recover from his thigh injury before the end of the season.

A bit more than a month later, talking to L’Équipe’s web site this Monday, the Vannes man counter-attacks. “Despite what some could say, I’m hoping to play with my training club again before the end of the season, he affirms. All going well, I could return to training in April and be ready for competition in May. To play again with Rennes before the end of the season is my aim”. Between May 7th and 29th, Stade Rennes will play the final 5 match days of the Ligue 1 season.

For the rest, there is no doubt Marveaux will leave Brittany in June, at the end of his contract. However, despite the latest rumours announcing an agreement with Liverpool, the former U21 international announced he is “still to decide” on his future destination. “I will soon (On March 20th, according to L’Equipe) leave for Clairefontaine to complete my re-education, and once I make my decision, I will announce it”.
