M'Vila wants «to play the Champions League with Rennes»

While some players remain vague about their ambitions for the end of the season, this isn’t the case of Yann M’Vila. In the press conference this Thursday, the young Rennes midfielder clearly announced that he “personally” targets the top 3.

«My ambition is to finish the season on the podium, M’Vila affirmed in an interview to L’Équipe’s website. I want to play the Champions League, and when I play against Marseille on the Friday and see them in Manchester on the Tuesday, it attracts me. I’m still young and I know I have got a lot of time in my hands, but I would like to play the Champions League with Rennes next season”.

Although he refuses to unveil his perspectives for next season (« this isn’t the question at the moment »), the young Rennais wishes to see Frédéric Antonetti, who introduced him to Ligue 1 in August 2009, extend his contract in Rennes. “Us players want him to stay, M’Vila explained. He brought me a lot. He makes players improve at an impressive pace. You only have to see how quickly John Boye or Kévin Théophile-Catherine have improved. He launches youngsters, but he also makes them progress”.
_Good news for M’Vila, the latest trend seem to go in the direction of a contract extension for the Corsican manager (read previously).
