Contracts : Théophile-Catherine to sign an extension

Kévin Théophile-Catherine, one of the revelations of this season in Rennes, should soon be extending his contract with the Stade Rennais.

The player, one of four members of the professional squad whose contract expires in June 2012 (see the summary of contracts) admitted to L’Équipe that this extension “on a very good way”.

Trained at the club’s Academy, he was originally a defensive midfielder, and started his professional career under Guy Lacombe’s management, during the 2008-2009 Coupe de la Ligue, as a right back. But it is Frédéric Antonetti who gave him his chance as a first team regular, this time on the left flank of the defence.
