Dréossi hopes that the «sportive logic» will prevail for M’Vila

Dréossi hopes that the «sportive logic» will prevail for M'Vila

In a long interview to the club’s official website this Tuesday, Pierre Dréossi has notably discussed the various rumours of contract extensions published in the media over the last few days.

Indeed, the general manager confirmed that a contract extension should be confirmed in the next few days for Kévin Théophile-Catherine. The full back should be signing a new three-year contract, pushing the expiry date of his term to June 2015. Usually cautious in this domain, Dréossi affirmed this extension was «almost done».

Another contract extension should be agreed in the next few days, Frédéric Antonetti’s. Despite a contract expiring in June, the Rennes manager should logically extend his stay in Brittany. “I don’t imagine the future without him”, Dréossi affirmed, explaining that the club would « find a solution for him to stay ».
The general manager also confirmed the existence of talks with Nicolas Douchez and Kader Mangane for possible contract extensions, explaining the club’s strong will to keep these two players.

Finally, questioned about Yann M’Vila, Pierre Dréossi announced he would soon be meeting the player and his agent to discuss the future. Heavily solicited, announced as being a prime target for numerous major European clubs, the midfielder should be at the centre of all attentions this summer. With M’Vila under contract in Rennes until June 2014, the Stade Rennais can easily refuse a transfer. But it is also understandable that things would be much simpler if the player agreed to play one more year with the Rouge et Noir. “It would seem so logical if he stayed one more year, Dréossi hints. I hope the sportive logic will prevail on economic considerations”.
