M’Vila "had a little slump»

M'Vila

For Yann M’Vila, the preparation of France’s game against Luxembourg is an opportunity to look back at his most recent game with Les Bleus, against Brazil.

A game in which the Rennes midfielder had probably displayed his least accomplished performance in the French national team, with several missed passes and a certain difficulty to find his position within Laurent Blanc’s tactics. The player admitted these difficulties, talking to L’Équipe’s website, noting a slight slump in his performances over the last few months.
«It’s true, I wasn’t as comfortable as I was at the beginning, M’Vila admitted. Even my performances with my club where not the same as usual. I had a little slump”. An issue he could talk about with Nicolas Dyon, the club’s fitness coach. “He explained me that I had played all games since the beginning of the season, and that the issue was physical”, M’Vila added.

On Friday evening, Yann M’Vila could play at midfield from the start once again. However, and although he start counting as an essential player in the French team, the young Rennais explains he doesn’t « consider himself installed », affirming that it would take “another few years”before it happens. Surely, however, good performances against Luxembourg and Croatia could bring him a step closer to that status.
