Antonetti hits out at Aulas

On Thursday, Frédéric Antonetti recognized that “chances were slight” for Stade Rennes to win the French Champion title considering the gap managed by Lille. However, the Rennes manager explained that his team “really has chances” to managed a position in the podium and qualify for the Champions League. “Even though Marseille and Lyon have got more assets than we have, Antonetti explained. Not quite in terms of aptitude, but in terms of experience, which could prove useful”.

The manager also criticised the attitude of Lyon’s management, and in particular of Jean Michel Aulas, after Rennes’ recent game in Gerland. “Some could pretend there is no influence, but some certainly try to influence, Antonetti pointed. You call it the name you want, but if I had done what happened in the corridors in Lyon, I think I would have been summoned to the commission of ethics. This is just something I notice. Everything is important in the final weeks of the league”.
In Gerland, the OL president had shouted at game’s referee Antony Gautier, who he accused to have awarded – wrongly in his eyes – the free-kick leading to Théophile-Catherine’s equaliser.
