Isimat-Mirin wants to take his revenge on Stade rennais

Isimat-Mirin wants to take his revenge on Stade rennais

Appeared in Ligue 1 for the first time on September 26th, 2010, Nicolas Isimat-Mirin has played six games – starting four – since the beginning of the current Ligue 1 season.

The young, 20 years old defender trained in Valenciennes (where he now plays) was previously at Rennes’ Academy since he had graduated from the INF Clairefontaine in 2007. Two years later, Isimat was finally not kept and he had decided to head to the North of France in order to try and make his way towards the professional world.

Last Friday, talking to La Voix du Nord, the former Academy player admitted that his quick evolution with VAFC was in part to do with his desire of revenge. “I’m determined to show Rennes, the club where I’ve been trained, that they made a mistake, the young defender explained. I didn’t doubt my qualities, I had my dream in my head. I left thinking: +OK, you don’t want to take me, you will see…+”. In one year, the player has convinced Philippe Montanier to include him to the professional squad for the summer pre-season, and then for the L1 season.

Although he affirms he kept no grudges against Stade Rennes, Nicolas Isimat-Mirin – whose professional contract signed last October will come into effect next June – will certainly be particularly motivated and eager to play the next game between Valenciennes and his former club, on May 7th at the stade Nungesser.
