Former Players: Källström is «extremely happy» he chose Rennes

In an interview to the LFP’s English website, former Rennes midfielder Kim Källström discussed the circumstances of his arrival in France, and the reasons for him to choose Rennes despite many other offers.

«I was young, and I heard that there were a lot of young players from France who were doing well, the Swedish international remembers. said to myself that it could be great for my development to go to a club that has faith in young players and works to develop young talent».
Hence the choice to sign for Stade Rennais, where the focus was already on developing young players. “Rennes was an up-and-coming club, so why not? I had a good feeling about it. Now I’m extremely happy with my decision”, Källström affirms.

After five seasons in Lyon and seven and a half years in France, the Swedish midfielder, nearly 29 years old, could leave the Rhône this summer. His name is quoted amongst the players who could leave the OL.
