Former players : Chaigneau in Ligue 1, Levacher in National

According to Ouest-France, FC Lorient has started their mercato with the recruitment of Florent Chaigneau, the goalkeeper of Le Poiré-sur-Vie (CFA) last season.

Trained in Stade Rennais, Chaigneau has played in ligue 1 during the end of 2003-2004 season, making a succession of errors while he was standing for Petr Cech, injured. Overtaken by Simon Pouplin, Chaigneau was loaned to Brighton but the experience wasn’t successful. Stade Rennais didn’t offer him a new contract and Chaigneau left the club.
A disastrous season with Toulon (National) forced him to step away during two years : Chaigneau was without a club when Le Poiré-sur-Vie contacted him.

In Vendée he caught up : Chaigneau was a major part in the promotion in CFA, then in National. But the former U-17 world champion won’t continue with his club in this adventure, preffering to come back to professionalism in Lorient.
In addition of Christian Gourcuff - coach of Stade Rennais while Chaigneau was learning at the Academy - the 27 years old goalkeeper will reunite with Arnold Mvuemba and Gregory Bourillon again, with whom he won the Gambardella Cup in 2003.

Direct consequence for Chaigneau leaving, Le Poiré-sur-Vie would - still according to Ouest-France - recruit Benjamin Levacher, another former Stade Rennais player, as their new goalkeeper. Levacher has played with La Vitréenne since 2008 and his coach Oswald Tanchot would also join this club next season.
