International, U17 : Bakayoko at the World Cup

The rennais midfielder Tiémoué Bakayoko will take part from 18th June to 10th July to the U17 World Cup, played in Mexico. The young player is a member of the list revealed by Patrick Gonfalone, the coach of the French squad for this age category.

Originally from Paris, this defensive miedfielded join the Stade Rennais Academy from FC Montrouge. Selected two times last year with the U16, Bakayoko met up with the France squad last spring and was then rewarded for his nice season with Stade Rennes’ U19 team.
The Last Rennais players who took part to a U17 World Cup were Yacine Brahimi, Abdoul Camara, Damien Le Tallec and Yann M’Vila in 2007, since France didn’t manage to qualify to 2009 session.

In the first round of the competition, France will face Germany (June 18th), Japan (June 21st) and Jamaica (June 24th). The first and second of each group, as well as the four best thirds, will be qualified for the Round of 16.
