Chauvin took “much inspiration” from Nantes

Chauvin took “much inspiration” from Nantes

On Wednesday, FC Nantes made the arrival of Landry Chauvin as the professional squad’s manager official. At the end of his contract with Sedan, the man who spent fifteen years as a coach at Stade Rennais arrives in another stronghold of youth training in France.

«This is a great joy, Chauvin commented on Nantes’ website. For me, a born-educator, it was the biggest Academy-club at the time (i.e.: when he trained at Stade Rennes). This is what FC Nantes’ success was based on, the players from the professional squad were trained at the Academy. I took much inspiration from that club”.
He was particularly inspired in the work methods at training. “I remember coming to La Jonelière to learn from Raynald Denoueix’s training sessions, Chauvin casts back. This is an immense joy for me. It means a lot”.

This season, the former Rennes coach’s mission will probably to bring the « Canaris » back to the top flight, even though this target hasn’t been formally announced by Waldemar Kita as of yet. In our discussions, he never mentioned the promotion, Chauvin affirms. It will probably come later. He asked me to build a competitive squad. Everybody should pull in the same direction. We will need to take a very good start. It often means a good league season”.
