Altercation between Le Lay & Antonetti: Dréossi minimises

The day after the defeat conceded in Glasgow, Pierre Dréossi and Frédéric Antonetti confirmed the existence of an argument between the head coach and his president Patrick Le Lay, just after the match.

Inquired by Ouest-France, the general manager insisted to minimize the impact of this incident, explaining it by a difference of « personality » between the Stade Rennais manager and his president. « A difference of opinions has been expressed; some people shout louder than others. But such a difference of opinion often happens… There was an incident between the president and the manager, that’s all », Dréossi explained.

The version of Frédéric Antonetti, interviewed by radio station RMC, was fairly similar. The Corsican technician explained his angry outburst by a difference of opinions with his president. « We disagree on the analysis of football in general and of the match, Antonetti explained. He analyses a result, but me, I analyse a match. The difference is there. It lasted ten seconds ».
