Apam, Boye and Brahimi with the Reserve?

Apam, Boye and Brahimi with the Reserve?

All on their way to recovery after injuries, Onyekachi Apam, John Boye and Yacine Brahimi could return to competitive football this Sunday with the Reserve in CFA2, Frédéric Antonetti announced this Thursday during his press conference.

After over a year away from the pitch, the Nigerian defender could indeed play a match of football. The first one since Nice-Lens, played with Nice on April 17th 2010. His gradual return could breeze past another landmark this Sunday, at La Piverdière against Sablé-sur-Sarthe, as long as he is ready to play. “We are waiting for his decision”, Antonetti commented.

Not absent since suche long time, the other two players are getting back into football with as little rush as possible. According to Antonetti, their possible playing time on Sunday will not be more than 45 minutes. “We will tke a decision to see if they can play a half with the Reserve, the Corsican manager explained. It could be a bit premature for Boye, but I think Brahimi can do it”.
Since the second match this season, against Rustavi, Brahimi has been suffering with an ankle injury and could only play sparsely since. The attacking midfielder hasn’t played since the trip to Le Mans a month ago, and the Rennes coaching staff then explained they would take the time for him to recover completely.
As for Boye, he hasn’t played for two months and the game against Saint Etienne at the Route de Lorient. The defender gave himself a bad thigh injury at the time, forcing Georges Mandjeck to play at centre back in the next game against the l’Atlético Madrid.
