Awards: mentions for M'Vila and Antonetti

As the year ends, the awards season is on. In its edition of the day, the magazine France Football is giving its prizes for national football, rewarding the best player and the best manager for the whole year. As it has been the case since a few years, the former winners of the awards are voting for their successor. Each of them is proposing a “top 5” in which each player or manager named is given five to one point.

Amongst the player, the prize has been awarded to Karim Benzema, before Éric Abidal, Hugo Lloris, Samir Nasri and... Yann M’Vila, who is therefore in fifth place amongst the expressed votes. Patrick Vieira is placing him second in his “top 5”, only second to Abidal, while Lilian Thuram and Zinédine Zidane are naming him in third position. “He is the young player going forward, literally and metaphorically, at Stade Rennes and with France”, the Real Madrid director of sports commented.
Also giving him points are former Rennes favourite Khennane Mahi, Michel Platini or Didier Deschamps who affirms he “really is the greatest success to French football over the last few months”.

As for managers, Rudi Garcia is logically winning the award, for the Coupe de France and Ligue 1 double managed by Lille. Frédéric Antonetti is meanwhile managing a good sixth place, behind René Girard, Laurent Blanc, Antoine Kombouaré and Bruno Bini but before Didier Deschamps and Christian Gourcuff.
The Rennes manager has particularly impressed for of his peers, who placed him in second position. Former Rennes manager Michel Le Milinaire, Jean-Claude Suaudeau, Daniel Jeandupeux and Francis Smerecki. « He is showing is influence on his club, and manage to train young players within competition », “Mimi” affirmed, always keeping a keen eye for his former club. Meanwhile, The former Nantes legend underlines “the fact that Frédéric Antonetti is so persuasive in his convictions, that he brings his team to realise the extent of their strength and leads them to confidence”. The Rennes manager will certainly be very touched by these compliments.
