Contracts : and now, Mangane ?

Contracts : and now, Mangane ?

After reaching an agreement to extend Yann M’Vila’s contract until 2015, Stade Rennes are now hoping to manage the same outcome with skipper Kader Mangane.

The Senegalese defender, whose contract runs until 2013, is currently negotiating the terms of a contract extension with the Rennes management, including a salary increase to match his status as a leader in the “Rouge et Noir” squad.
A contract extension which would guarantee Stade Rennes the presence of Mangane, whose qualities and performances have clearly awaken the interest of several clubs for this summer. According to L’Équipe this Thursday, the Olympique de Marseille is indeed considering the recruitment of the Rennes centre back to cover for the announced departures of Gabriel Heinze and Vitorino Hilton. In Marseille, Mangane would join Rod Fanni, Stephane M’Bia, but also Souleymane Diawara, his partner in central defence with the Senegal national team.

Questioned in the web-tv show “Rouge et Noir” yesterday, Mangane affirmed his willingness to “respect his contract”, while explaining that “he didn’t know what could happen in the weeks to come”. All options are therefore open, but Stade Rennais keep the upper hand in their bid to keep their defender.
