Dréossi hits out at the media

In an interview given to Ouest-France this Thursday, Pierre Dréossi declared he considered the media treatment given to his club after the draw against Paris Saint-Germain as “unfair”.

The general manager, who explained he had seen a « good game of football » with a « good Rennes team », said he “struggled to understand some articles, some analysis. There is a real gap between what most people have seen at the stadium or in front of the television and the comments that followed”.
Although L’Équipe has logically – because of their national audience – focused a lot of its game summary around Paris’ performance, Ouest-France has been remarked for some very severe notations of the Rennes players, too severe for Dréossi.

«The players, the coaches and even the administrative staff of the football world now that being judged is part of the game, the general manager admits. Also, we all know that sometimes, the opinions are divergent. But this time, and this is the reason why I wanted to react, I think there is something unfair. In fact, over this game as since the beginning of the season, I believe the Stade Rennais deserves more consideration”.
Sunday, Ouest-France had notably given 3 out of 10 to Kévin Théophile-Catherine, 3.5 to Mangane and Boukari, 4 to M’Vila and Mandjeck, and 4.5 to Féret and Kana-Biyik. Only Costil (7) and Pitroipa (6.5) managed to get above half-marks.
