Europa League : Sion will fight on

Europa League : Sion will fight on

Expelled from the Europa League and replaced by Celtic Glasgow (read previously), FC Sion intends to fight against this decision.

Denouncing an arbitrary decision taken by the UEFA, the Swiss club asserts, through its lawyer, that the European federation « violates the Swiss law and its own statuses, based on Swiss law », and intends to bring the case before the civilian court, since the club considers it is within its right.

The president of FC Sion, Christian Constantin, denounced a « trial settled in advance » where « the dice were frankly loaded », daily newspaper Le Matin reports. The Swiss manager promised that his team « would be in Madrid on 15th September » for the first game week of the groups phase, in a match Celtic Glasgow also intends to play against Atletico.
