Féret : «Yet to play full games...»

Questioned by website sports.fr, Julien Féret discusses the beginning of his season at the Stade Rennais, which he considers insufficient despite five goals and four assists in seventeen games, all competitions included.

«I lacked efficiency in some games, when I had the opportunity to score goals for example, the playmaker judges. So, naturally, if I think that each game I’ve played I had opportunities and I could have scored them, I can do better. You have to be demanding with yourself, and consider you can always improve».
However, while he affirms that his game « are yet to be full », but he thinks he « is bringing something to Stade Rennes », the man from Saint Brieuc hopes to fulfil the mission given to him as well as he can, in his way of playing as well as in his position in the squad. “It is true, that I am one of the eldest members of the squad, so I have a bigger role here than in Nancy, he recognises. “Because of my positioning on the pitch, but also because of my experience and of the fact this is now my fourth season in Ligue 1”.

Regularly pre-selected by Laurent Blanc when he played for Nancy, Julien Féret continues being followed by “Les Bleus”’ managing staff, as prove the pre-selections “received every time since a year”. However, the possibility of a first cap with France, maybe in November for the two games against the United States and Belgium, are not an obsession. “It will be the same as usual, he explains. If I receive one (ed.: pre-selection), I will have a chance to be there, If I don’t receive it , it might be for another time”.
The answer will come next Thursday, but until then, Féret had a chance to force his luck this Sunday, since Alain Boghossian – Laurent Blanc’s assistant – was present to watch the game between Rennes and Toulouse.
