Former Players: Borne and N’Guema on trial

Former Players: Borne and N’Guema on trial

Having only played twenty-four games in two seasons and reaching the end of his contract at Boulogne-sur-Mer, Guillaume Borne was on trial at Beauvais (National) this week. Yesterday, the former Stade Rennes centre back was even involved in a friendly game against Orléans (1-1).
In a few days, the club from Picardy should offer him a contract in the Oise according to the website courrier-picard.fr. This move could help him launch his career. As soon as December 2006, he profited of an avalanche of injuries to brilliantly install himself in Rennes’ central defence for the remainder of the season. The following season, his playing time diminished and Borne was loaned to Brest in August 2008, shortly after his final minutes in the Rennes shirt, against the Olympique de Marseille (4-4).

Stéphane N’Guema knows Beauvais quite well, since he played for the club during the first half of 2010. In August last year, the 2003 Gambardella Cup winner had joined Paris Saint Germain where he played with the Reserve.
This Monday, he will start a trial period at Vannes (National) and could even be playing this Wednesday during Vannes’ friendly against Rennes. A nice wink of fortune for N’Guéma who was plagued by injuries throughout his career, and was never able to confirm his first two seasons in Ligue 1, in which he was revealed as one of the best prospects at the club and in the League.
