Former Rennais: Diatta returns to England

It was in the air since several days, the signature of Lamine Diatta in Doncaster has been officialised Wednesday by the English club. The former Rennais (1999-2004) signed a 2 months contract with this team, which currently plays in the npower Championship.

The former Senegalese international was looking for a club since his departure from Étoile du Sahel (Tunisia) last August. These last years, after his departure of Saint-Étienne in 2007, Lamine Diatta has travelled widely, playing successively in Turkey, England, Scotland, Qatar and then Tunisia. Three years and a half after his short experience with Newcastle in Premier League, he will be back on English soil for a few weeks.

On the last months, Doncaster distinguished itself by signing many former players from the French championship. Pascal Chimbonda, Hérold Goulon, Habib Beye, but also former Rennais Hérita Ilunga and El-Hadji Diouf currently play for the club.
