Former players: Dembélé at Red Star

At the end of his contract with Stade Rennes last summer, defender Bira Dembélé had signed a two year contract with the CS Sedan-Ardennes, in Ligue 2. A club in which he only remained for since month, since the player launched in professional football by Guy Lacombe in January 2008 has been loaned to Red Star (National) until the end of the season.

In the Ardennes, Bira Dembélé didn’t manage to find his place, after a season he spent entirely with Rennes’ reserve in the CFA. In six months, he only played one Ligue 2 game against Le Mans. A game in which he was dismissed for receiving two yellow cards. Dembélé also played two games in the Coupe de la Ligue, against Boulogne-sur-Mer and Lille.

Dembélé will therefore try and revive his career at the inferior level, in a department of Seine-Saint-Denis he knows well since he grew up there. The former U21 international could play as soon as this week-end in the Coupe de France, in a game between Red Star and Olympique Marseille at the Stade de France.
